Terms and Conditions
The terms for using grantgiles.com.au and buying coaching, training plans, memberships, workshops and camps from Grant Giles Coaching.
Last updated: October 2026
1. About these Terms
grantgiles.com.au (the "Website") is operated by Grant Giles (ABN 68 597 650 920) ("Grant Giles Coaching", "we", "us", "our"). Through the Website we publish articles and newsletters, offer free and paid memberships, and sell coaching services, training plans, workshops and camps (together, the "Services").
By using the Website, creating a member account, or buying any of the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or the Services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always on the Website. If you have an active coaching arrangement or membership, we will email you about material changes, and the changes will apply from the date we notify you.
2. Membership and your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy the Services. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must enrol you and accept these Terms on your behalf.
- Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and you must tell us promptly if you believe it has been accessed without your permission.
- One account per person. Accounts and memberships cannot be shared or transferred.
- Paid memberships renew automatically at the interval you chose (monthly or annually) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
3. Coaching services, plans and workshops
- Coaching means a one-to-one or group arrangement where we prescribe and review your training over an agreed period. The specific inclusions, duration and price are set out in the written offer or booking confirmation we send you, which forms part of these Terms.
- Training plans are pre-written programs delivered digitally. They are general in nature and are not individually reviewed unless you have also purchased coaching.
- Workshops and camps are delivered on the dates, at the location and with the inclusions described when you book.
We will deliver the Services with reasonable care and skill. Grant Giles holds Level 3 High Performance accreditation with AusTriathlon and current insurance.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are in Australian dollars.
- Payment is through Stripe or as stated on your invoice. We do not store your card details.
- Coaching fees are payable in advance for the period they cover. Workshop and camp fees are payable at booking unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- If a payment fails, we may pause the Services until it is resolved.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 10).
- Memberships: cancel any time from your account. We do not refund the unused portion of a billing period.
- Coaching: either of us may end a coaching arrangement with 14 days' written notice. You will be refunded for any whole months paid in advance beyond the notice period. If you need to pause due to injury, illness or life circumstances, let us know and we will work out a fair arrangement.
- Training plans: because plans are delivered digitally and immediately, they are not refundable once delivered, except where required by law.
- Workshops and camps: if you cancel more than 30 days before the start date you will receive a full refund less any non-recoverable costs (such as venue or accommodation deposits). Within 30 days, no refund is available, but you may transfer your place to another person with our agreement. If we cancel or reschedule, we will offer you a place on the new date or a full refund.
- Missed sessions: if you miss a scheduled session without at least 24 hours' notice, the session is forfeited. We will try to reschedule sessions where you give notice, but cannot guarantee it.
6. Your responsibilities
Triathlon and endurance training are physically demanding. You agree to:
- Tell us honestly and promptly about any injury, illness, medical condition or medication that could affect your training, and update us when things change.
- Consult a doctor before starting or substantially increasing training if you have any doubt about your fitness to do so, and follow their advice.
- Use your own judgement. Our training prescriptions are based on what you tell us and on general coaching principles. You are the one in your body. If a session feels wrong, stop and tell us.
- Train safely: follow road rules when cycling, swim within your ability and in supervised or safe open-water conditions, use appropriate and well-maintained equipment, and follow race and venue rules.
- Be respectful in your dealings with us and with other athletes at group sessions, workshops and camps.
If you breach these responsibilities or behave in a way that is abusive or puts others at risk, we may end the Services without refund.
7. Assumption of risk
You acknowledge that swimming, cycling and running, including open-water swimming, riding on public roads, and training at high intensity, carry inherent risks of injury, illness and, in rare cases, death. You take part in the Services voluntarily and accept those risks. We will take reasonable care in prescribing training and in running in-person sessions, but we cannot eliminate the risks of the sport itself.
8. Not medical advice
We are coaches, not medical practitioners. Nothing on the Website or in the Services is medical, dietary or psychological advice. Content on nutrition, recovery, injury or mental skills is general information only. Always seek advice from a qualified health professional for anything specific to you.
9. Intellectual property
Everything on the Website and in the Services (articles, newsletters, training plans, session content, workshop materials, videos, images and the Grant Giles name and logo) is owned by us or licensed to us.
When you buy a plan or membership you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use that content for your own training. You may not copy, share, resell, publish or use it to coach others without our written permission. We may end your access if you do.
You keep ownership of the training data you share with us. You give us permission to use it to coach you, and to use it in de-identified form to improve our services.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Our Services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If there is a major failure with a Service, you are entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have the problem fixed within a reasonable time, or to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion.
11. Liability
Subject to section 10 and to the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, missed races or events, or loss of data.
- Our total liability to you in connection with the Services is limited to re-supplying the Services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied.
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party providers (venues, accommodation, race organisers, training platforms) that we do not control.
12. Website use
You may not use the Website to do anything unlawful, to interfere with its operation, to scrape or harvest content or member data, or to post anything abusive or misleading in comments or member areas. We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach this section.
The Website may link to other sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.
We try to keep the Website available and accurate but do not guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
13. Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
14. Images
We may take photos or video at workshops, camps and group sessions. We will only use images that identify you for marketing or social media with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing grant@areomaxteam.com.
15. General
- These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, and the courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
- If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- We may use contractors to help deliver the Services. We remain responsible to you for the Services.
- If we do not enforce a right under these Terms, we have not waived it.
- Notices to us should be sent to grant@areomaxteam.com. We will send notices to the email address on your account.
