The fright threshold
Three efforts above threshold on Halloween night. None of them planned.
Saturday's Halloween. Up top is my guess at the heart-rate file for anyone on door duty.
Three efforts above threshold. None of them on the plan. Full recovery between each. As interval sessions go, it's not bad.
The serious bit. Your body can't tell a fright from a hard rep. Heart rate is a stress signal, not a training signal. A tough day at work, a bad night's sleep, a small Spider-Man at the door: it all lands in the same bucket. That's why I look at your whole week, not just the sessions you log.
So enjoy the lollies. Count the doorbell as Saturday's intervals if you like. Sunday's long ride still goes ahead.
